SIIA Lifetime Achievement Award for Content
Awarded to outstanding individuals whose pioneering spirit, demonstrated ingenuity, and ongoing stellar career achievements have improved the Content industry.
Eligibility Criteria
Nominations may be made on behalf of individuals who are living at the time of the nomination. Candidates need not be members of SIIA. There are no restrictions with regard to race, gender, nationality, geographic location, or religious or political views. Institutions, products or organizations are not eligible for the Award.
Nomination Process
- Nominations for the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Awards must be submitted electronically to Lisa Mitchell-Brooks no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, December 22, 2008. Paper nominations will not be accepted.
- Nominations may be made by any Content-focused company, whether an SIIA member or non-member, which is now or has been affiliated with any institution involved in software creation and/or its development.
- Candidates may not nominate themselves.
- Nominators are asked to maintain the confidentiality of the nomination process and to refrain from informing the candidate about the nomination. If an individual is selected as a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award, he or she will be notified accordingly by SIIA.
- There is no restriction on the number of candidates nominated by any institution or nominator.
- There is no cost for placing a nomination.
Nomination Materials
The following materials must be sent electronically to SIIA as noted above. Preferred file formats are *.doc, *.pdf. Your nomination is not considered fully submitted until you receive a confirmation e-mail from SIIA; confirmations will be sent within 2 business days. Letter of Recommendation
The letter of recommendation accompanying nominations must:
- be addressed to the SIIA Executive Board; be written in the English language; and not exceed 1,000 words;
- specify that the candidate is being nominated for the 2009 CODiE Lifetime Achievement Award; and
- describe the candidate's significant, fundamental contributions to the Content industry and how the candidate's leadership or mentorship has made a lasting impact on the industry.
Summary Statement
A statement, no more than 100 words, summarizing the candidate's accomplishments for which he or she is being nominated must also be included with each nomination.
Selection
Candidates will be considered by the SIIA Content Board. Selection of the Award winners will be made on the basis of each candidate's significant, fundamental contributions; the lasting impact of these contributions; and the demonstration of a lifetime commitment to progress in the industry. One winner per year may be selected per each SIIA division.
