Technical/Development Committee

The Technical/Development Committee explores issues that affect the technical and development efforts of our member companies. In the last three years, this group has explored issues such as open source/open technologies, 1:1 computing, universal design, curriculum standards, interoperability, and technology to support research and digital rights management from a technical perspective.

The current focus is developing a Primer on Common Foundations for Educational Technologies. They developed a panel for Ed Tech Industry Summit in April 2007: Developing Content for Compatibility: From a Prisoner's Dilemma to Common Digital Formats to address helping educators access multiple applications from a unified interface and integrate instructional resources seamlessly with teachers’ curricula while successful and aligned with state and local standards.
