This year, we have more than two dozen Listening and Presenting Companies who will connect in a series of brief meetings to discuss business development opportunities and strategic objectives. We are pleased to include many of the Innovation Incubator Program companies as Presenting Companies as they learn how to turn their products into emerging businesses.
Listening and Presenting Companies will receive an information packet prior to the Ed Tech Business Forum. It will include a meeting schedule and summary information on the Listening and Presenting Companies.
Presenting Companies:
As you prepare for your meetings, please consider the following:
- You will only have a few minutes with each Listening Company, so have your thoughts prepared and any demonstration materials (laptop, handouts) ready.
- These meetings will set the stage for continued conversation, so bring plenty of business cards.
- Read and bring your information packets so that you're informed about your Listening Companies and their objectives before your meeting begins.
- Listening Companies are industry veterans who are willing to share their expertise, so have questions prepared, about their company, their goals, and the industry in general.
- Listening Companies do NOT want to hear sales pitches. Don't attempt to sell your products, but do establish dialogue with the possibility of future conversation.
Listening Companies:
- Read and bring your information packets so that you're informed about your Presenting Companies and their objectives before your meeting begins.
- Try to gauge in advance what you think the Presenting Companies should be looking for in their conversation; know whether they need your company's interest or your own advice.
- Keep in mind your own business models and investment criteria to determine how you and the Presenting Companies could work together in the future.
- Presenting Companies do NOT want to hear sales pitches. Don't attempt to sell your services, but do offer your advice and expertise for use in these meetings.
